Managing Trustee

Nursing is the foundation and pillar on which the healthcare sustains. The role of a nurse both in the hospital and in the society is complex, multifaceted, demanding and knowledge based, involving exemplary personal behaviour and relationship.

Sri Shankara College of Nursing is committed to impart high standards of training to equip the students with confidence, knowledge and skill required of them to face the challenges as they emerge from the institution. The college is attached to 2 hospitals, aggregating 400 beds of various specialties. The senior professional staff members have achieved academic excellence in their field and are highly experienced teachers, and the management is committed to excellence in all spheres of the institution.

our AIM

The aim of the undergraduate nursing programme is to:

  • Prepare graduates to assume responsibilities as professional, competent nurses and midwives in providing promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services.
  • Prepare nurses who can make independent decisions in nursing situations, protect the rights of individuals and families, and facilitate individuals and groups in pursuit of health; function in the hospital and community, and conduct research studies in the areas of nursing practices, education and advancement.
  • Prepare nurses to assume the role of a teacher, a supervisor and a manager, in a clinical/public health set up.

Financial Support


The foundation is committed to support deserving and meritorious candidates in completing their course. Financial assistance is available in the form of scholarships. The institution will also help students in facilitation of loans from various banks.
