SSCON is approved by the Govt. of Karnataka and offers a four year degree course in nursing, structured in accordance with R.G.U.H.S. regulations and syllabus.

Sri Shankara college of Nursing is recognised under Section 13 & 14 of the Indian Nursing Council Act to offer the BSc Nursing Course with an intake of 40 seats for the Academic Year 2020-21.

Admission


  • Age Limit for Admission

    The candidate should have completed 17 years on or before 31st of December at the time of admission and should be medically fit.

  • Educational Qualification

    The candidate should have passed +2 or equivalent qualifying examination with science subjects, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or) Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology.

    The candidate should have secured not less than 45% of marks on an aggregate for the above subjects in the qualifying examination and not less than 40% of marks if he/she belongs to scheduled caste / scheduled tribe or other backward castes.

  • Eligibility Certificate

    Candidates who have passed any qualifying examination other than the higher secondary examination conducted by the Government of Karnataka, should produce an eligibility certificate from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka before seeking admission.

  • Commencement and Duration of the Course

    The Basic B.Sc. (N) course commences in the first week of October. The duration of the study extends over a period of four academic years.

  • Selection

    Selection of the candidate is based on merit in the entrance examination held by Sri Shankara College of Nursing.

  • Registration

    Registration of the candidate is done by submitting the filled application form.

  • Enrollment

    The selected candidate fulfilling all the criteria for the course is enrolled.

  • Medium of Instruction

    English is the medium of instruction for the course as well as for the examination.

Note:
  • Clinical training means, 8 hours of integrated clinical duties in which 2 weeks of evening and night shift duties are included
  • Clinical training is generally an 8 hours per day @ 48 hours per week commitment.
  • Students during clinical training will be supervised by nursing teachers
  • Students will be eligible to appear in the fourth year final examination only after completion of clinical training.

Fee Structure

The fee is charged on the basis of expenses incurred on education and other facilities offered. Students are expected to meet the expenses. The fee is payable as per the approved cost prescribed from time to time. The fee structure is liable to change every year as per appropriate revisions and will be communicated well in advance.
