Workshop
Sri Shankara College of Nursing & Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Bangalore conducted a workshop on Legal Issues in Nursing on 23rd March 2019. The objective of the workshop was to enhance the knowledge of nurses with respect to legal issues in patient care, documentation and confidentiality. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Shri. N. Kumar former Justice, High Court of Karnataka and was attended by 180 participants from 17 institutions
Dr. Sripada Venkata Joga Rao ignited the knowledge of participants on medico-legal issues in nursing. Speakers with strong nursing credentials namely Major. Gen.Elizabeth John. Prof.Reena Menon, Mrs. Lissy John and Mrs.Sailaja Busi, shared their respective views on legal liabilities, duties and rights of nurses in India. The KNC appointed Faculty Dr. Bhīma Uma Maheswari observed the proceedings of the workshop. The observer and the participants appreciated the organizing committee for having chosen a topic of need and for their wonderful arrangements.
This was an effort to bridge the gap between knowledge and practice on legal issues in nursing.
